Language requirement

ArtEZ offers programmes in Dutch and English. To enrol in a programme, you must meet our language requirement. The information on this page applies to students starting in September 2025. 

What language requirement applies to you?

Choose the option that fits your situation.

Take your language test as soon as possible

If you need to show evidence of your language skills, register for a test as early as you can. This is important because:  

  • Waiting times for test dates and results can be long, especially in the summer.
  • You’ll still have time to resit the test if needed.
  • You’ll know sooner whether you can enrol in your programme.
  • Deadlines matter: the final date to submit is  31 August.  If you need a residence permit to study at ArtEZ, the deadline is 31 May.

You may be able to request a modified test; for example, if you are dyslexic or have low vision. Ask the language centre where you’ll take the test as soon as possible.
