This course is a focused training for the theoretical part of the entrance exam. After completing the course, you will be better prepared for the music theory exam, which is part of the admission procedure for the Bachelor’s. You can take this training if you are already familiar with the most basic concepts of general music theory and have a basic knowledge of music notation. The ArtEZ Conservatorium in Enschede will assess, through an entry test, whether your prior knowledge is sufficient to take part in the Intensive Course. You will be informed about this entry test once we have received your registration.

The course is taught by a student from the Music in Education programme, who is closely involved in the preparatory trajectories. To keep costs low and accessibility as high as possible, we offer the course free of charge.
The Intenisive Course in Music Theory and Ear Training starts in February 2026.
Because the admission requirements for Classical Music and Jazz & Pop are very specific, we advise you to follow the preparation at the ArtEZ Conservatorium in Arnhem or Zwolle.
