A few years ago, DAI took a bold turn, radicalising its already inventive modus operandi. The programme left the academy and moved outward, closing not only the doors of its building but also those of prescribed and static protocols. Since September 2017, this master’s has brought education to a wide range of carefully chosen locations across the world, navigating between different sites, institutions, practices and ideas. We mobilise our bodies and our minds.
Members of the DAI community meet seven times a year during the DAI Confluence – an experimental learning environment, think tank, network and theory gathering. For 10-12 days, you will stay in this temporary, vibrant commune: a soft spaceship that gently lands each time in a different location, within or beyond Europe.
This Planetary Campus is a unique, innovative space, incomparable to any studio-based programme. It is an improvised yet welcoming hub, always open to guests and always itself a guest. It is a conceptual space where the DAI curriculum resonates with the world around us. A place where art and research are shared freely, and where complexity is embraced.
