Critical Fashion Practices is designed for designers, thinkers, and makers who engage in a critical exploration of fashion. You combine experimentation with reflection and continually place fashion within the context of identity, culture, and society.
This master's programme received an ‘Excellent’ rating in the Keuzegids Masters 2025.
You develop a critical fashion practice that contributes to a fairer and more just fashion system. Within this programme, you are given the freedom to formulate, explore, and deepen your own research questions.
You are guided by critical fashion professionals, thinkers, and other experts from the worlds of fashion, art, and design. You build a network of inspiring peers and guest tutors, and collaborate with the Fashion professorship and other master’s programmes and research groups within ArtEZ.
You explore different forms of expression, through text, sound, activism, or performance. Think of writing, podcasting, publishing, reading groups, colloquia, curation, and more.
