Profiles

Electronic Artist & Producer

Develop your own sound and identity as an electronic music producer and artist. Refine your creative and musical skills – and learn how to bring your music to the stage as a live act.

Do you like making electronic music? Do you want to develop your own style and sound and perform it as an artist in a live act? If so, this is your profile. During your course, you work on the many facets of being a producer and artist. For example, you work on your artist's profile, develop live sets with Ableton, synthesizers, controllers and, if that's your ambition, with voice or other instruments as well. You also develop your own signature sound library. Making remixes and singles for other artists (external or from the Academy of Pop Music) is another aspect. We also look in more detail at the disciplines of concepting, marketing & business, club and festival culture and performance.

If you, as a MediaMusic student, choose the profile of Electronic Artist & Producer, you will receive, among other things, the LiveLab course. In this programme, you will discover and try out together with experienced professionals how to develop a good live set. After all, you are not only training as a producer, but also as an artist. During LiveLab you will learn all kinds of knowledge, skills and all the possibilities of various tools when creating a live set. You learn to create, organize, communicate (with your audience, for example!), research, present, experiment and apply. And how do we test all these components? On stage... at the end of the academic year, the Electronic Artist & Producer students present an awesome live set in one of our beautiful studios or in our Theater.
