Graphic Design - Bachelor - Zwolle

Prepare well

Would you like to start a programme at the ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Zwolle?

Visit one of our open days to experience the atmosphere at the academy for yourself. You can speak with lecturers and students, have your portfolio reviewed, attend information sessions, ask questions at the Student Information Point (STIP), and explore the classrooms and student work.

Get inspired

To prepare well, immerse yourself in art and design. Visit exhibitions and browse platforms such as Metropolis M, Kunstbeeld, Frame, DAMn, and Dezeen.

Each year, you can also visit the academy’s finals exhibition. This usually takes place in June or July and presents the graduation work of fourth-year students.

Portfolio tips

  • Show three-dimensional work – for example furniture, clothing or other objects (not only drawings or paintings).
  • Include personal work – sketches and designs made on your own initiative are especially valued.
  • Show your process as well as results – how did the idea start? What worked and what did not?
  • Practise observational drawing – you will work a lot with hand-drawn sketches; as preparation, make a daily spatial drawing from observation in your sketchbook.
  • Curate and present clearly – make a well-considered selection and present it in a clear, well-organised way.

Get early feedback – at our open days, you can have your portfolio reviewed and receive tips from lecturers and students.
