You already have some experience with composition, such as through independent study or a preparatory programme. You think and work with music as your starting point and you are looking for a programme where you will collaborate, discover new perspectives and grow into an original creator. Composition for Film and Theatre is a hybrid bachelor’s programme for composers who want to collaborate with other art disciplines, such as dance, film and theatre. You will have space to develop your own sound and to experiment. You will explore the limits of music and your own abilities.
You can complete a large part of your studies remotely with online classes, coaching and feedback. You can also choose a version of the programme that is entirely on campus. In both cases, you will work with fellow students and creators in the international music field. You will come to the Netherlands for project weeks, allowing you to engage in real-life collaboration, rehearsals and presentations, get direct feedback and make a connection with your lecturers and fellow students. This way, you will combine focus and freedom with real practice experience.
The programme is taught in English and can largely be completed online. This means you will study with students and lecturers from all over the world. This creates an inspiring learning environment full of international influences, new perspectives and chances to collaborate.
