After graduation

Graduates of the BA Artist Educator in Dance are passionate, enterprising dance teachers who can dance and create dance, have a strong personal presence on the studio floor, are eager to learn and innovate, and know how to pass on a love of dance (and the joy of it). With these skills, you can work in many different areas across society.

Your degree

If you successfully complete the Artist Educator in Dance programme, you’ll be awarded the title Bachelor of Education (BEd).

This programme is registered in the RIO under code 34940. In the RIO, the programme’s formal name is Bachelor Docent Dans and that is what will appear on your diploma.

Getting to work

During the programme, you’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the opportunities in the professional field. You’ll build knowledge and experience—and start building your network straight away. That means you can get to work immediately after graduating, for example:

  • in your own business;
  • as a CKV teacher in secondary education;
  • supporting dance projects in primary schools and after-school care;
  • as a répétiteur or choreographer with amateur dance companies;
  • at centres for arts education;
  • at private dance schools;
  • in care and nursing homes;
  • with refugee organisations and asylum seeker centres;
  • at organisations running community art and dance projects;
  • or as a dance coach, organiser/entrepreneur, and dance trend watcher.

Further study

After this bachelor's programme, you can continue at ArtEZ with one of our masters programme's. Education in Arts, Performance Practices or international Master Artist Educator.
