Title: HAVONA
Jaco Pastorius was a revolutionary bass player.
During the seventies and eighties he composed,
played and produced some of the most
mind-blowing music ever heard.
Jaco is the most influential musician in my life,
who has inspired me to connect my musicianship
with my love for drawing.
In this graphic poem I have depicted his personality:
playful, daring and loving,
but also deeply troubled.
The live music I play during the exhibition adds
an extra layer of atmosphere to the book.
Jaco’s big influence in my playing
provides context for the reader and emphasizes
Jaco’s significance to me.
