I use the metaphor of rocks as a translator, to show how information is received in our fast, massive informative society. They are forgotten but will always be there. Art contains information and they are expressed emotionally. They are looked at differently and shown in different ways. I chose to practice art because of its infinite possibilities. And here I translate rocks in drawing, ceramics, writing, and books. To show the history, information, and emotion. And most subtly, I want to ask the audience. What is your rock?

‘Why my rocks have a Flat ending.’ is a project that started from a small rock drawing. I had the most shattered summer back home and came back to the Netherlands. I tried to find a way to archive everything I felt, and by the act of making art, I identified myself as a translator of the world. The book shows my thoughts, feelings and dreams in the form of writings, drawings and ceramics. Also, they are displayed together on the bookshelf. I leave it to the audience to find their own way of seeing the ‘real’. People can see the translation of words, lines and clay. They can see my translation and see the real and make their own story.
