 Hold me, still

Hold me, still is a project that aims to change the narrative surrounding death and grieving. Exploring how tactility, ritual and personalization can benefit the grieving process by providing structure, comfort and meaning while helping people navigate through difficult experiences. The project consists of three subseries of memorial objects which are aimed to be more inviting to hold and interact with in different ways, creating a stronger sense of connection with the deceased loved one. Experimenting with shape, texture, weight, and material to achieve this. These objects include glass urns, fabric urns and keepsakes made out of glass melted from sand from a favorite place visited or the cemetery after an excavation for example. Each of these objects could be custom-made to suit individual needs and wishes, creating a unique and personal memorial piece. Ultimately the project encourages people to share and talk about their experiences surrounding grief more openly and offers a sense of connection and comfort within the process of losing a loved one.
