Marjolijn Brussaard to leave ArtEZ

Marjolijn Brussaard will be leaving ArtEZ on 1 February 2025. The Supervisory Board and Marjolijn Brussaard, Chairman of the Executive Board, differ in their views on what ArtEZ needs and what kind of leadership the organisation will require during the next phase of its development.

 

The visions of the Supervisory Board and Marjolijn Brussaard are too far apart on this crucial point to enable the continuation of their collaboration.

 

Marjolijn: “Sometimes you have to draw the conclusion that it is better for both ArtEZ and myself to pass the baton. It is time for someone else to take the next steps with ArtEZ. I wish ArtEZ every success in that.”

 

The Supervisory Board hopes to be able to restore the Executive Board to a stable and fixed membership as soon as possible. Until that time, Wilfried Claus and Jan van der Boon will make up the interim Executive Board.

 

The Supervisory Board thanks Marjolijn for her outstanding efforts since taking up the post in 2015 and for the achievements that ArtEZ has posted during her tenure. ArtEZ will certainly continue to build on these achievements. The Supervisory Board wishes Marjolijn the very best for the future.
