Tilmar Junius, head of Jazz & Pop at the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Zwolle, passed away

Tilmar contracted an infection in recent days that led to severe blood poisoning in a very short time. Far too soon he leaves behind his girlfriend Rebecca and his young daughter and son. ArtEZ wishes them much strength during this indescribably difficult time.

At ArtEZ, we will greatly miss Tilmar as head of Jazz & Pop, as pianist and teacher, and as a colleague. As of Wednesday, May 10, a condolence corner has been set up at the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Zwolle containing a book in which one can leave their memories of Tilmar.

On May 9 at 9 p.m., Jazz & Pop students will host a concert in memory of Tilmar at Café de Kuiperij in Zwolle. An appropriate farewell will follow later from the ArtEZ Academy of Music in Zwolle.
