Yannick van den Ende

The multidisciplinary filmproject RAQIYA takes you on a mystical journey through the magical land of the Al'sas. Here, the young sorceress Raqiya searches for the dragon that gave her late wizardmaster his powers. The film arose from Yannick’s desire to grieve. It is a spell woven by many hands, intended to create a space for a mourning with an undefined destination, in memory of his best friend and father, Jon.

Yannick van den Ende (2000) is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and wizard whose creative work spans writing, animating, filmmaking and editing. This year he is graduating from Creative Writing (2026), having also completed study courses in animation and film (HKU 2022, ArtEZ Zwolle 2023, FAMU Prague2025). In his art he explores the hidden world of magic and the apparent impossibility of grief, and uses experimental methods to reveal the inner worlds of his characters. He is driven by mysticism, intersectional theory and history, and is committed to the preservation – and creation – of magical and ritual spaces.
