Vesela Panova

Painting is my way of telling stories of motherhood, intimacy and distance, calmness and equally present tension, delicacy and aggression. Through them I aim to materialize the presence of the maternal body and its experiences.

Despite the universality of the maternal as an experience, it remains deeply personal and inti mate and holds such strong emotionality that I find the need for connecting, understanding and healing extremely necessary. The process of painting is my way to go back and emotionally reex perience these moments as an artist after their happening and become more aware of their impact and intensity after going through them so fast and unaware.
