"Teun Renkema" begins as a semi-autobiographical travelogue and ends with a bang. In between, there is nothing but Beauty, Love, Truth, Gucci Mane, and Organ Music. Those who can't stand long sentences will have to wait until it's made into a film. It was as if the blooming garden that was the world had been ripped up, turned over, and blown up by some great cosmic gardener with a passion for self-assertion and evil voices in his head, and that before he could even plant the new crops, after one of his rare nights out, he had been ripped open by the Intergalactic Junkie with a shortage of money, withdrawal horror, and a Great Knife in an alleyway that leads to the worse side of the Milky Way, after which all his black blood and muddy gardener’s innards had been poured down to Earth, and there, blackened by the atmosphere, had flopped down like burnt spaghetti bolognese in a dumpster next to a business that – strangely enough – specializes in Greek weddings and late-term abortions.
