Archival Dissonance: Volume 1 - Digital Bias is the first of a series highlighting how archiving can alter and distort history. It delves into the negative side of digital archives, where historical content might be incomplete or misrepresented. Such digital records become hard to find and misunderstood, resulting to digital bias. The volume examines the Harlem Renaissance. It juxtaposes a well-documented novel against the sparsely digitized works of minorities from the same period and area. These lesser-known pieces, due to their limited online presence, face a higher risk of being inaccurately digitised, which leads to a bad representation of history.
