These days, people mainly want answers. Answers to questions that can never be answered completely. Yet, we've all built systems to provide those answers.
The art world also contains many of these open questions. What is art? A question that many have already tried to answer: Plato, Kant, Tolstoy, Heidegger, Rancière, Danto — and Refact too.
But who ultimately decides this? You?
Who decides whether something is art? And when should you be allowed to call something art? Is something art if it's in a museum? And how does that art even end up in a museum?
But who ultimately decides this? You?
Couldn't we, as a society, look at what art is? So that we don't just let a select group decide what art is? Couldn't we make art more democratic? Couldn't we create a system so that people become more involved with art? So that we gain more say in what is meant for us. Or isn't art for everyone?
But who ultimately decides this? You!
