As an artist, I contain multitudes — but during my time at ArtEZ, my identity and my artistry became intertwined. As I have changed and evolved, so dose me as a performer. Art can hopefully become a kind of alchemy: a way of channeling my current state of being into movement.
My ambitions are forever changing, but one that stays constant is a curiosity for the gaps between different art forms and expressions — and a drive to build bridges between them. It’s in these gaps that I find myself thriving.
One of many inspirations is sensation — in the moment something feels a certain way. That feeling becomes a desire to express and create through the body. It can come from anywhere: a painting, a conversation with my sister, a person I pass on the street, a piece of gum. It goes back to instinct, play, and sensation.
My fourth year was a full season internship at Skånes Dansteater in Malmö — performing in four productions, touring, and leading workshops for diverse communities. It was a demanding and formative year where I grew both professionally and personally, learning to navigate the reality of working in a professional company while also discovering more about who I am as an artist.
