Mette Hoekstra

Mette Hoekstra (she/that, 2002) is a playwright and songwriter, among other things. In 2023 and 2024, she wrote the play for the De Maakers production. With Eidolon, she explored captivity and escape attempts, and Molest focused on secrets, sex, and power dynamics. Mette sees each work as an experiment to gain new insights and perspectives, preferably in collaboration with others. In 2022, she founded the collective De Laarpoerlaar, which prioritises a desire to create, and with Lisa Minnema, she forms the cabaret duo De Flauw.
