Merel Wesselink (23) is a cheerful and enthusiastic dance teacher. She is full of energy and always harnesses that energy when taking and teaching dance classes, and participating in all kinds of other sports activities. Running and mountain biking are also among her hobbies, as exercising outdoors provides her with an outlet alongside training in the dance studio. She is always eager to work hard to achieve her goals, and this is evident throughout her training.
As a dance teacher, she prefers to teach modern, jazz, and floorwork styles. Her energy and passion for dance come together in her lessons, encouraging and motivating students to go for it. She believes it's important to always be open to ideas and feelings. A pleasant and safe learning environment, in addition to encouraging the joy of dancing, is essential to her lessons.
Merel also has a great passion for primary education. She began this program with her Preparatory Teacher Training (PABO) diploma, and her love for teaching children has always remained. For Merel, the ultimate combination of dance in primary education emerged. During her graduation, she specialized in teaching dance in primary education. Stimulating students' freedom of movement and creativity, engaging them with dance in a playful way, is a true driving force for Merel. In her lessons, she combines dance skills with social-emotional aspects. Through this, she hopes to connect with the needs and goals of primary education. She strives to introduce all primary school students to the subject of dance.
In the coming years, Merel will work as a dance teacher and graduate from PABO. She hopes to combine these two fields and, above all, to instill in her students a great joy in dance.
