The urge to paint an image. Often inconspicuous things that catch your attention for a moment, only to be forgotten again. I, however, magnify them and ask people to slow down as they look at the painting.

These are visualizations of how I perceive these seemingly inconspicuous images; they become traces of the original imagery. I make my own paint and work with many transparent layers—a process that allows me to slow down while engaging with the image. I often incorporate scent into my paintings. The fragrance encourages people to approach the artwork differently; instead of standing still at a distance, they move through the space and view the painting from various angles. The experience of the painting thus extends beyond the purely visual.
