Mariana Parra critically examines the detrimental impact of fast fashion on communities, collaborating closely with disadvantaged groups, and promoting positive change through improved garments and informative publications.

In Unveiling Intimacies and Healing Intergenerational Trauma: Mexican Older Women, inspired by a conversation about lingerie with an elderly woman, Mariana Parra Gonzalez engages with dissatisfied adult women to break stereotypes and expose age discrimination in fashion. Recognizing the need to challenge societal norms, she emphasises open dialogue, breaking taboos, and advocating for an inclusive fashion industry that celebrates women at every stage of life.

Motivated by these experiences, Mariana ventured into writing a book that fosters intergenerational introspection, reflection, and dialogue among women. Its aim is to collectively redefine the meaning of ageing, its implications on clothing choices, and combat ageism. Through  intertwining stories of inspiring women dear to the designer's heart, the book invites readers to explore and share their own narratives.
