“May I?” is a installation framed as a dexterity game, exploring the scope of consent and the effect that framing the circumstances, has on it. The chosen format resembles eye contact on a nightclub dance floor, based on personal experience. The project is situated within a contemporary social issue and debate, but stems from personal questions and experiences. Collaboration is part of the work and, through the game format, inspired by Twister, I have been able to present a serious theme in a playful way. During the game, the players unconsciously explore this together and subsequently reflect on it.

I employed various techniques throughout the project. From making my own paper, screen printing, and printmaking to installation, creating ceramic forms and lights and audio mixing for the first time. ADHD at it’s peak ; ) The pieces and material used, almost all upcycled, thrifted, handmade or retrieved from dumpstersmy trademark over the years. A reaction towards consumerism, environmental issues and capitalism.
