Koen Bordewijk (Assen, 2003) discovered his passion for theatre at a young age. After completing several pre-professional theatre programmes, he joined the ArtEZ School of Acting in Arnhem, where he developed into an energetic and playful actor with a strong desire to explore and experiment. During his studies, he also discovered a particular fascination with language and text.
Today, Koen writes and performs his own work, often infused with a generous dose of surrealism. During his graduation year, under the guidance of Lowie van Oers and in collaboration with the Café Theatre Festival, he created his solo performance *The Know-It-All*, for which he also wrote the script. The production is a fast-paced and surprising theatrical performance about the choice of whether—or not—to follow the rules, filled with energy, absurdity, and imagination.
His graduation thesis, *Absurdism in Contemporary Theatre*, examined the presence of classical absurdism in today's theatre, with a particular focus on the production *(.....)* by Theater Artemis.
From March 2027 onwards, Koen will appear in *De Bende van de Witte Roos* (*The White Rose Gang*), a production by Garage TDI.
