Project Creating Mini Worlds

A Good Day to Reimagine the Everyday

Do you ever find yourself daydreaming? There are moments when the mind drifts away, constructing scenes, spaces, and possibilities that do not exist in the physical world. This ability to imagine is universal—and the things we create from it can be enjoyed both by those who make them and those who experience them.

For me, a good day is one in which I find joy in noticing and appreciating small details in everyday life. I am naturally curious, often pausing not only to observe but also to question what I see—why things are the way they are, and how they might be different. Whether it is the texture of the ground or a small flower growing between tiles, these moments stay with me and continue to occupy my thoughts. I often capture them through photography, using them as references for making and creating.

My project, Creating Mini Worlds, explores how everyday observations can be transformed into miniature, imagined environments through handcraft and model-making. Fragments from daily life are collected, reinterpreted, and combined with imagination, then translated into small-scale worlds using 3d printing. In this process, imagination takes on a physical form—something that can be seen, held, and experienced. The project extends beyond my own act of making by developing these elements into pushpins that invite others to participate. The viewer becomes a maker, engaging through assembling and interpreting, and in doing so becomes a subcreator of the world. As these mini worlds remain open and incomplete, each person shapes them differently, turning individual imagination into a shared experience.
