Juliette Stock

My name is Juliette Stock. I am currently completing my bachelor in Moving Image in the Netherlands. Throughout my studies I learned how to question, use and play with the mediums of video and photography. I have developed a strong interest for films, documentaries and experimental filmmaking. My references go from Agnes Varda to Claire Denis, Chantal Akerman to Jonas Mekas. I am interested in themes such as daily life, human relationships and our relationship with narratives and images. Through my practice I would like to develop new tools of storytelling and give new perspectives on our relationship with images. Moreover, I am interested in queer storytelling and how to “queer” traditional storytelling.

This film depicts the story of a young filmmaker losing hope regarding producing her last script. After a meeting with a production company that let her very disappointed in herself, she starts lying to everyone around her, especially her girl friend, about the movie being made. 

This film tries to encapsulate fears of young filmmakers and artists regarding their career but also their expectations and the pressure one can put on oneself.
