Judith Wiersema (26) is a passionate dancer, dance teacher, and dance creator for whom life itself is the greatest source of inspiration. Authenticity, complexity, softness, and strength are central to her work. She connects these with experiences from her own life, seeking connections with others through these experiences.
Her fascination lies primarily with contemporary dance, feminine dance styles, and classical ballet. For her, the possibilities for body awareness and expression connect these styles. "From the inside out and from the outside in" is characteristic of Judith's approach. In her graduation research, she investigated how the ability to perceive internally can be enhanced in a classical ballet class.
Personal attention to each student is paramount in her teaching. She believes it's important that students can practice in a safe environment and discover what they enjoy or find challenging. Judith has a keen eye for the physicality of dance and challenges her students in their articulation, groundedness, flow, and freedom of movement. It's precisely the variety of ages and backgrounds that makes Judith so enthusiastic. She enjoys working with young and old!
In the future, Judith wants to continue to grow as a dancer, dance teacher, and dance creator. She is always exploring new ways to share her love of dance with others.
