Who are you as a teacher and creator?

I'm a coach. A facilitator who, through my work—whether it's lessons or projects—attempts to harness the strengths of those involved and always offers something meaningful. I also tell stories, often fictional, but the ways I tell them vary. My only requirement is: it must amaze people.

What inspires or fascinates you?

I've always been inspired by film, specifically the works of Christopher Nolan and Edgar Wright. As a creator, I think from a cinematic perspective, with my eye as the lens. I love the detail you can put into it. That you discover something new every time, so that, despite the material being identical, the experience is always different.

What are your ambitions and desires for the future?

My wish for the future is to continue creating, both individually and in groups. I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Deltion technology students on my performance, and I'm very pleased with that. I would absolutely love to facilitate these kinds of learning programs, where students can learn and create. I'd also love to continue creating performances and experiences with my cinema later on, and to start a collective in Zwolle.

Tell us something about your research.

For my research this year, I attempted to combine elements of film and theatre in the hope of achieving a symbiosis of the disciplines: FIATRE. This was achieved through both my graduation performance and my research. However, I'm not there yet. I hope to publish a publication by the end of 2025 that, based on my own experiences with film theater production and research, can serve as a guide for aspiring and established filmmakers to also engage with film.
