Learning, connecting, and creating—that's what drives Janneke van der Molen (21) as an Artist Educator in Dance. She's an empathetic and engaged creator and teacher who enthusiastically brings movement to education. Through her analytical perspective and creative approach, she naturally immerses children, teachers, and cultural partners in the world of dance.

With a strong affinity for primary education, Janneke immersed herself in the role of dance within the curriculum during her studies. Her graduate research focuses on how arts and cultural organisations in Gelderland contribute to dance education in primary education. Her research has resulted in a single visual advisory letter, titled "Education in Motion – The Path to Dance in Primary Education," in which she offers schools, cultural institutions, and policymakers practical tools for structurally incorporating dance as a learning tool.

Janneke believes in dance as a language that goes beyond words, a means of giving children space for expression, imagination, and social growth. In her classes, she creates a safe and playful learning environment where fun and imagination take centre stage. At the same time, as an organiser and connector, she understands the bigger picture and integrates dance into school structures and educational goals.

After completing her training, Janneke wants to work as a professional dance teacher in primary education, become involved with a cultural centre, and pursue a lateral entry program for teacher training college (PABO). In this way, she continues her journey of sustainably strengthening dance education as a teacher, developer, and catalyst for change.
