“This project brings together ceramics, interviews, and writing to explore my family’s experiences surrounding the postwar ethnic deportations in Slovakia. The exhibition reflects how personal and collective histories are carried through storytelling. The ceramic table setting functions as both a memorial and a reconstruction, reflecting on the intimacy of the home as a site shaped by political upheaval. Alongside the book, the project becomes an exploration of identity within the Hungarian ethnic regions of Slovakia, considering how histories of displacement, shifting borders, and inherited memory continue to shape cultural belonging across generations.”
