I am forever changing. But to sum it up: 1) I like to work interdisciplinary and perform in spaces outside of the black box theater. 2) I could consider myself a researcher, focussing on process rather than product. 3) I also like to zoom out and look at the way artistic platforms are organised, how/if they create an accesible and inviting atmosphere.
As of now, my ambitions include: 1) Continue to integrate visual arts into my practice, either merged with performance or standing on its own. 2) Create and facilitate socially/politically engaged spaces, where art and education can merge. 3) Experience meaningful interactions with communities and artists outside of my own bubble.
I have a tendency to turn inwards and ponder about identity politics. Feelings or a questions that I can't quite place, often turn out to be a starting point for a creation or a research. I also get inspired by people trying to do good things for humanity.
I had a freelance year. These are some things I did, in no particular order: I continued my artistic research on my stomach/bowels, and I made 2 performances which I was able to showcase at two different venues in Amsterdam. I have also gained experience in production, both on small and larger scale. I resided in Belfast for 2 months where I worked with community centers as an educator, artist and researcher. In Belfast I learned a lot about the role of art in a (post)conflict city. How art is just a vessel of expression like anything else, and it can be both suffocating and liberating.
