I am someone on a quest to break open the boundaries of theater. Visual art, music, and philosophy are indispensable to me. I sometimes fear that if I stay stuck in my head for too long, the world will simply rush past me. My fascination begins with dreams, questioning, nature, imagery, and sound. I love beautiful things—and stylized ugliness. In fact, I love anything ambiguous, allowing us, as thinking beings, to assign our own meaning to things. A certain stubborn independence is important.|
What inspires me
The clutter in your head. Surrealism. Weird things and weird people. Dreamers.
What is my ambition or vision for the future?
I want to paint, work with nature and sound, conduct research, work with people I find cool yet weird, create even more models and miniatures, make films, and never again be bound by rules confined to a single discipline.
I’m not much for words, but I love the painting
What can you expect at the finals?
Third Space is an interdisciplinary theatre experience where film and live music converge. The film reveals a world constructed from physical scale models and miniatures. We follow a figure attempting to navigate this world—a realm that is at once dreamlike and raw. Through a series of fragmentary chapters, the piece explores various themes surrounding this collective state of being. Is this merely drifting away in a reverie? Or are we trapped in this new reality? The live music acts as a bridge between the film and the audience. The world passes us by. We feel an urge to inhabit a place that is "not here." We drift away. Yet, one can become trapped in that drifting. What if this place were a physical world—what would it look like?
In my research, I delve into what creative imagination actually is as a human capacity. I examine the philosophical and theoretical perspectives on it: what have thinkers, scientists, and writers said and written about this?
