Dion Osté is a versatile visual artist and connector. Born and raised in Houten, he now lives and works in Zwolle. In his work, he explores how a story or topic can best be translated into images—and how he can then use that image to connect and mobilise people.
Both in his (visual) work and in his thesis, Dion explored the question, "Which kind of space suits you? In collaboration with the Cultuur in de Wijk foundation in Zwolle, he worked on a project focusing on community building for young people, focusing on art and theatre as unifying forces.
Inspired by this experience, Dion is presenting a self-made, travelling camp for his graduation project, which he invites everyone to join. With imaginative illustrations and interactive community art assignments, he connects people and invites them to think together and shape the shared space.
In response to today's individualistic society, Dion hopes his work will contribute to bringing people closer together. His ultimate ideal: that connectedness becomes the new normal.
