“Plakplaats voor Vrije Meningsuiting reduces the physical and functional qualities of the poster, as a means to advertise, sell and provoke, to its purest form. If the poster gets taken out of its context and ends up as a heap of scraps, will it still be able to carry out its function? Collecting, cutting and ripping posters, using the “plakplaatsen” throughout Arnhem with an archaeological approach. Presenting these pieces of posters as they are and as a collection exposes the material and aesthetic qualities of that which has carried out its function.”
