Who are you as a performer/artist?

Dance for me is the universal language. Everyone can dance and I see this as a way to connect to the world. I love searching for the little things that I can use in my art, that spark something within the people I am working with, my students, an audience and everyone around.

What are your ambitions?

This year has been a bridge for me in between the world of being a dancer to becoming a teacher, and I will continue my work as a teacher after graduation. Working at Sally thought me a lot about relating dance to the way childeren see the world and how we can use that magic for the good and this is something I want to bring into dance school to spread that magic and joy of dance.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration in dialogue with the people around me. Whether that is talking about a piece I am creating with other dancers, hearing what childeren saw after watching us perform or talking to my students in and out of class. Hearing what dance sparks in them and how they can see differeny things in dance inspires me a lot.

What did you do at your intership & what did you learn?

I worked at Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht, a dance company in The Netherlands that focusses on creating work for childeren and families. I got to be in three different productions working as a dancer and in production and it thought me a lot about children's perception of the world and how dance can create a magical world for them because of their own interpretation. Working with childeren as a performer inspired me to also start teaching this year, so since autumn of 2025 I started my own research into becoming a dance teacher, by observing classes, starting subbing classes and teaching repertoire to the pre-educations of ArtEZ. Next season I will continue teaching and letting myself get inspired by my students.
