“150 years ago humans hunted the wolf and drove it out of the Netherlands.
Over the past decade, the wolf has slowly returned, sparking much debate regarding wildlife, public safety and the complex relationship between humans and nature. For centuries the wolf has been depicted in fairytales, folklore, myths and religion as a cunning, dangerous and threatening creature. By analysing the historical, cultural and modern narratives surrounding the wolf this project demonstrates how cultural perceptions can influence the role of the wolf in our ecosystem."
