Anne Kleinjan is an illustrator who enjoys working with various media. In her work, she primarily asks questions — playful questions about, for example, being a teenage girl, the dolphin population in Arnhem, and whether grown-ups are also allowed to miss their mom or dad. Yet beneath the surface, there often seems to lie a serious and sometimes activist undertone.
In her graduation project, she delves into her relationship with her brothers. She looks back on their shared (and not-shared) childhood and tries to figure out how they grew so far apart over the years. Along the way, more and more questions arise, such as: is she actually any good at being a sister? How do you even become a good sister in the first place? And above all, how do you have a constructive and open conversation with someone who sometimes sees the world so differently?
