"When women make art like men do, their goddesses look divine."
As a teacher, I'm someone who pays as much attention as possible to the needs of each individual student. As a creator, I enjoy tackling social issues; I often create works about women's rights. In my work, I always try to offer players the opportunity to learn what they want to learn in the process.
I draw a lot of inspiration from classical mythology, especially the Greeks. But I can actually find inspiration anywhere. Unless I'm looking for it, which is harder to do.
During my time at ArtEZ, I really developed a passion for teaching at the vocational college (MBO) and hope to make it my career. Ideally, I'll work part-time as a lecturer on an Artist-Actor program and also do freelance projects as a creator.
"Boundaries and consent as a natural part of your rehearsal process – and what this does to the performers' experience."
My research is about making consent and boundaries self-evident within your rehearsal process. As a performer, I often felt the need for more attention to this in processes before I started the program. But when I started searching for resources on how to approach this as a creator working with amateurs and aspiring professionals, I found little out there. So I decided to research it myself and put together a toolkit for other creators facing this question.
