Name: Anna Podt
Internship: "Wintersprookje" at MaxTak
Graduation Performance: SAPPHOLYMPICS with Collective JOCH

Anna Podt (she/her) is graduating this year from the ArtEZ School of Acting in Arnhem.

During her final year, she performed in Wintersprookje by MaxTak, directed by Marije Gubbels, and completed an observational internship with the theatre collective WUNDERBAUM. As a theatre maker, she co-founded two collectives, JOCH and POT, while also developing her own solo work.

In 2026, she created We Ain't Got It Easy, But We Got It, a performance inspired by her fascination with the 1970s, women's houses, and the radical lesbian movements of that era. Together with Collective JOCH, she created SAPPHOLYMPICS, a television-show-inspired performance hosted by two queer presenters whose broadcast is repeatedly interrupted, raising the question: who is really in control?

With Collective POT, in collaboration with Velvet Publishers, she developed a theatrical reading of The Third Woman, based on the novel by Natalie Clifford Barney. Written in 1930s Paris, the novel explores Barney's lesbian polyamorous relationship and offers a rare perspective on queer love and intimacy.

As both a performer and theatre maker, Anna works with grotesque performance, strong visual imagery, and humour. Her work is driven by a desire for richer and more diverse representations of love between women on stage.

In the coming season, she will appear in PAN with MaxTak and perform in Twilight with the music theatre company Waagstuk. She will also develop new work as a theatre maker at Frascati as part of the Beginnings programme.

Anna Podt is a singer, theatre creator, and actor.
