Zintuigelijkheid

Within the architecture curriculum at ArtEZ Academie van Bouwkunst, design education occupies an important position. Practising design trajectories, as undertaken in the studios of the master’s programme Architecture, serves multiple purposes for emerging architects. The studios follow a layered and sequential structure, encouraging students to acquire knowledge through specific exercises and research, to plan and distribute their attention and production capacity, to cultivate and pursue their own curiosity and to develop confidence in their abilities. In the so-called ‘long studios’, which run from September to Christmas, there is ample space to carry out a range of thematically inspired (sub)exercises that help to inform and nourish a design.
