For her finals work, Aleyna Turgut, a graduate of the master’s programme Interior Architecture (Corpo-real), drew inspiration from the transition between spaces. A threshold is more than a passage from a corridor into a room, or from outside to inside. It is a boundary that dictates behaviour and creates a moment of reset before something new begins.
'Thresholds cannot be experienced the same way now as they could 100 years ago. Back then you would walk into your own house and you would be completely private. We are experiencing this crossing differently now because eventhough we cross from one place to another, we are always connected in a way through digital services.'
