Sam explores physical resistance to existing power structures
For Fine Art and Design in Education graduate Sam Post from ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem, experiences of aggression towards femininity and growing up as a queer and trans non-binary person within the church form the starting point of the graduation project.
Over the past four years at ArtEZ, Sam discovered new perspectives and questioned long-held beliefs. That personal journey not only forms the foundation of the graduation project, but also of a future in which art can help others find space for their own stories.
During ArtEZ finals, student reporter Layla Souza Silva visited Sam to learn more about the graduation project, the personal journey behind it, and the role art can play in self-discovery.
