Ouiee explores the tension between war and entertainment
For BEAR Fine Art graduate Ouiee Park from ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem, memories of childhood patriotism and military imagery form the starting point of the graduation project.
Through ceramics, sculpture and installation, Ouiee explores the intersection of war and entertainment. By removing camouflage, the work creates space for imagination while allowing the underlying narratives and symbolism to remain recognisable.
During ArtEZ finals, student reporter Layla Souza Silva visited Ouiee to learn more about the graduation project, the ambition to become an ArtEZ tutor, and the advice shared with future students.
