Omar brings classical and Middle Eastern music together
Omar Shendy, Classical Music student at ArtEZ Academy of Music in Zwolle, believes that music brings people together. In his graduation concert, he combines classical music with music from the Middle East, exploring how different musical traditions can meet and enrich one another.
'I see it personally as a message of peace. I don't like to distinguish between 'these are the Western people and this is their music' and 'this is the Middle Eastern people and this is their music.'
