Joshua challenges visitors to experiment with typography
For Graphic Design graduate Joshua van Bree from ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design Arnhem, a fascination with design started at an early age. As a child, he loved taking things apart to discover how they worked.
With Type Under Construction, he translates that playful curiosity into a modular system that invites visitors to build their own letters, symbols and patterns while experimenting with typography.
During ArtEZ finals, student reporter Layla Souza Silva visited Joshua to learn more about his graduation project, his fascination with typography, and the role that play and experimentation have in his design practice.
