Research and design the meteorological dimension of architecture
Within the architecture curriculum at ArtEZ Academie van Bouwkunst, design education occupies an important position. Practising design trajectories, as done in the studios of the master’s programme Architecture, serves multiple purposes for emerging architects.
The studios have a layered and sequential structure that challenges students to gain knowledge through targeted exercises and research, to plan and distribute their attention and production capacity, to cultivate and follow their own curiosity, and to develop confidence in their abilities. In the so-called ‘long studios’, which run from September until Christmas, there is ample space to carry out various thematically inspired (sub)exercises that help to shape and enrich a design.
