Programme

In this preliminary phase, you will become thoroughly acquainted with the creative process of concept development, which is central to the Associate Degree in Interior Design. You will learn how to develop a clear design concept from an initial idea. In addition to building a solid theoretical foundation, you will immediately apply that knowledge in practice through realistic cases, such as designing a spatial concept for a music festival. Everything you create can be used for your portfolio.

You will attend six workshops led by professional interior architects and designers. In each session, you will work on a specific assignment, learn theory and see presentation examples, and practise visualising and articulating your ideas.

Workshop content:

  • Kick-off and introduction: what exactly is a concept?
  • Concept development: what methods can you use to arrive at a design concept?
  • Image and atmosphere: you will create a concept board and a visual story to accompany your idea.
  • Language and explanation: how do you come up with a catchy concept name and a clear explanation?
  • Wrap-up: you will summarise your design concept and work towards a final presentation.
  • Presentation: you present your concept to the group. How do you convey your idea?

Afterwards, you will receive a certificate of participation.
