You are between 16 and 22 years old, you already have a diploma or you are in your final exam year. And: you enjoy theatre and acting so much that you are thinking about taking it further. But applying straight away for Drama School still feels like too big a step. You first want to find out whether the theatre profession really suits you. Do you recognise yourself in this? Then sign up for Theatre Preparatory Course East!
Classes take place on Friday evenings and Saturdays, so they are easy to combine with your school, studies or job. We let you see and experience what theatre is, so that you can discover whether this is the right profession for you. After the preparatory course, you can audition for one of the theatre programmes at ArtEZ.
This preparatory course offers you an intensive introduction to the theatre profession. You learn about and experience all aspects of acting. You will act yourself and you will learn how to watch theatre. You learn to work together with your fellow actors and to bring out the best in your creative self.
Theatre Preparatory Course East is an initiative of ArtEZ, Theater Oostpool, Kunstbedrijf Arnhem, MBO Rijn IJssel, Gelderse Onderwijsgroep Quadraam and Arentheem College. Under the guidance of professionals from the theatre field, you receive classes in various aspects of acting.
After this preparatory course, you will know whether the theatre profession suits you. If the answer is ‘yes’, you can audition for the ArtEZ Drama School or the Bachelor’s programme Artist Educator in Theatre.
Please note: taking part in this preparatory course does not automatically mean you are admissible to a Bachelor’s. You will still need to pass the admission procedure. However, this preparatory course gives you an excellent preparation!
