Why choose a music preparatory programme?

From the age of 10, you can already take music lessons at ArtEZ. With one of our preparatory programmes, you prepare yourself as fully as possible for the admission to a bachelor’s programme at the ArtEZ Academy of Music. Preparatory programmes are offered in Arnhem, Enschede, Zwolle and the surrounding regions.

The preparatory programme helps you to:

• Develop your technical and musical skills to the entry level required for the bachelor’s programme;
• Prepare thoroughly for the admission auditions, with guidance on repertoire selection, presentation and ear training;
• Gain a realistic picture of life as a music student, so you can make a well-informed choice about your future in music.
   

Are you following a preparatory programme in Arnhem? Then you will take part in the Werkdagen: three inspiring days full of ensemble playing, workshops and musical exchange with other preparatory-programme students. You will explore a wide range of styles, from chamber music to jazz, pop and rock.

During the Werkdagen, you will work on:

• Writing your own song;
• Stage presence and performance;
• Studying effectively on your instrument;
• Mental strength and focus (mental training).
   

The Werkdagen conclude with a festive final concert – performed to a full audience.
